Mass of Christian burial for Matthew Thomas Heiland will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at St. Matthew?s Catholic Church with Father Cliff Jacobson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home. Military Honors will be provided by Ellsworth Air Force Base Honor Guard.Matthew Heiland, age 20, of Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma died in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, April 29, 2007.A1C Matthew Heiland was born on the 20th of December, 1986 the son of Thomas Catalano and Teresa Heiland. Matt graduated in 2005 from Fall River Mills High School in California. He was a bronco rider, a football player, and a member of the Future Farmers of America. In 2004, he was voted the most inspirational player on his football team. He also won several welding contests with the FFA. On the 21st of June, 2005 Matt joined the United States Air Force. Upon completion of training, he became a valued member of the 964th on the 8th of September, 2006. Matt has been awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal, posthumously, for his service and dedication. He loved mud racing and 4-wheeling with his dad and brothers and spending time with his mom and family on the ranch. He loved being in the Air Force and made many close friends who will remember his cheerful attitude and the way he always had a smile on his face.Matthew is survived by his dad, Thomas Catalano and wife Kelly of Gillette, WY, his mom, Teresa Heiland of Darby, MT, grandparents, Phil and JoAnn Catalano of Stevensville, MT and Tom and Janice Heiland of Darby, MT, great grandmother, Josephine Grubb of Stevensville, MT and brothers Kameran Catalano, Jeremy and Nicholas Sullivan of Gillette, WY.
