Raymond Joe Lott

Funeral services for Raymond Joe Lott, known to his family and friends as Joe, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with Sue Todd officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the American Legion Post # 42, will follow in Gillette?s Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, April 16, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home.Mr. Lott, age 77, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home of natural causes. Joe was born on August 21, 1929 in Dora, New Mexico the son of Ramon and Marie (Luce) Lott. He attended elementary school in New Mexico and graduated from Texline, Texas. Joe joined the United States Army in 1947 and was honorably discharged in 1951. Upon his discharge he went to work for Dowell Chemical in Midland, Texas. In 1954 Joe married Norma Reak in Midland. To this union three children were born. The family moved to Farmington, New Mexico in 1959 where he worked for Southern Union Gas and was later self employed as owner/operator of Parkview Phillips 66 Service Center. In 1970 he and his family moved to Gillette, Wyoming where he worked for GANE Production, Kemerling Brothers, and later as a contract pumper until 1983 when he retired due to ill health. Joe enjoyed his family and visiting with friends. He also enjoyed fishing, one of his favorite spots being Texaco Lake by Buffalo, watching rodeo events, and NFL football particularly the Dallas Cowboys. He was a member of Antelope Valley Baptist Church.Joe is survived by his wife, Norma Lott; daughters: Deborah (Jim) Cassidy, JoNell (Danny) Beck, and Kim (Deral) Peak all of Gillette, Wyoming; sister, Maxine Welling of Waxahachi, Texas; 7 grandchildren: LeAnn Ferguson, Nathan Cassidy, Chase Cassidy, Daniel Peak, Stephen Peak and David Peak all of Gillette, Wyoming, and Jordan Cassidy of Naples, Florida; 2 great-grandchildren: Aryanna Proctor of Yorktown Virginia and Lane Ferguson of Gillette, Wyoming; and numerous nieces and nephews.
