A celebration of life for Louise Lyngby Stillman will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 12, 2007 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church with Pastor Sonja Brucklacher officiating. At her request cremation has taken place and burial of the urn will be at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Mrs. Stillman, age 101, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at her home in Gillette of natural causes.Louise was born in Omaha, Nebraska on, October 3, 1905, the only child of Niels and Marie (Harper) Lyngby. The family moved to Holstein, Nebraska in 1912 where they lived until May of 1917 when they moved to Gillette, Wyoming. She graduated from the eighth grade in Holstein and graduated from Campbell County High School in May 1922. She is the last surviving member of her graduating class. Upon graduating she attended the Spencer Business and Commercial College in Sheridan, Wyoming for two years. Louise worked for the Gillette News Record and later for the Gillette Commercial Company. In 1926 the family moved to San Bernardino, California where she worked in various financial institutions and legal companies. She has been a member of the Royal Neighbors of America since 1925. Louise was an active member of St. John?s Episcopal Church in San Bernardino, serving on the Altar Guild and in the church choir. Upon returning to Gillette in October, 1970, she was employed with the First National Bank of Gillette, working her way from assistant cashier to Vice President before retiring at the age of 80. She was a member of the PEO, chapter B and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church where she has been active in the Altar Guild. As the oldest member of the congregation, having been confirmed in 1926, she compiled and wrote the 75th anniversary history of the church in 1987. Louis loved music, fine antiques and good books. Her sense of humor, gracious manners, and abiding faith have charmed, instructed and encouraged a host of friends and colleagues through the years.Louise is survived by two cousins: Dr. James Litel and Joyce (Litel) Boyer; and nephew, John and Kay Gishpart.She was preceded in death by her parents.Memorials are suggested to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Gillette.
