Funeral services for Vee Bjornstad will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Bode of the Central Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home.Mrs. Bjornstad, age 72, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at her home of natural causes.Vee Allyn Bjornstad was born June 27, 1934 the daughter of Harry and Frances (Heinrickson) Turner in Lance Creek, Wyoming. Vee was raised by her stepmother, Helen (Christianson) Turner. As a child Vee moved with her family to several different Wyoming cities including: Lost Spring, Kemmerer, Rock Springs and finally Gillette where she graduated from high school in 1951. Vee began her life long career in the restaurant industry at her family?s Gillette restaurant, The Stockman?s Caf. In the mid 60?s she moved to Casper, where she met and married Sonny Bjornstad on November 11, 1967. The couple resided in Casper where Vee worked at the Reef and Ramada Restaurant?s. The couple later moved to Newcastle, Wyoming where they managed the Newcastle Country Club together. They then moved to Sheridan where they managed the Elks Club and eventually owned and operated the Pony Lounge for 5 years before retiring and moving to Gillette in 1987, where they have lived since. Vee enjoyed watching her grandkids? activities and spending time with them. She liked country music, sewing and crocheting quilts and afghans as well as playing cards. Vee is survived by brother; Doug Turner of Gillette, Wyoming; her five children: Billy Percifield and his wife Linda of Billings, Montana, Donnie Percifield of Gillette, Wyoming, Toni Kell of Burrillville, Rhode Island, Julie Jackson of Casper, Wyoming, Kelly McKim of Gillette, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and grandparents.A memorial has been established in Vee?s name to benefit the Shriner?s Crippled Children?s Fund of Sheridan, Wyoming or the Campbell County Health Care Foundation to benefit the CCMH Oncology Center.
