Memorial services for Christopher Geis will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with Father Cliff Jacobson of St. Matthew?s Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.Christopher Jerome Geis, age 55, died at home in Washington, Utah on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 from leukemia.Chris was born on December 11, 1951, the son of Donald Clive and Edith Naomi (Hall) Geis in Pasadena, California. He spent his formative years there with his parents and older brother, Michael. Chris was raised in the Catholic faith and attended Parochial School while living in Pico Rivera, California. Following the death of his father in 1962, his mother and him met and joined the Archie Lindsey family and were married in 1964. Chris attended Gillette Grade School and graduated from Campbell County High School. He was drafted into the Armed Forces and served from 1971 to 1973. He returned home, to Gillette and held numerous jobs mainly Leon?s Welding (C & F Repair), The City of Gillette and the Cordero Mining Company. Chris retired from Cordero in 1988 and moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he attended the Phoenix School of Massage Therapy. He graduated in 1989, then interned at some of the spas and resorts in and around the Phoenix and Scottsdale area. In 1991 Chris moved to Washington, Utah and started his own massage therapy business, in his parent?s home while caring for them. He married Beverly (Bennett) Sabala in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 24, 1996. She joined his and they made their home together in Washington, Utah until the time of his death. Chris never met a stranger, he was a very loving, caring person, a lover of all things great and small especially life, people and his ?Harley Davidson?. Chris has a wonderful booming laugh that was a tribute to everyone who laughed with him, he was always the life of the party. His main passion was riding his Harley with Beverly (the love of his life) and also listening to old rock and roll music. He had so many friends and family who loved him so and will miss him forever.Christopher is survived by his wife, Beverly of Washington, Utah; 4 step daughters: Jeanie (Ron) Schlautmann, Julie (Pat) Schlautmann both of Gillette, Wyoming, Sheri (Doug) Paradise of Denver, Colorado, and Shelly Bryant of Washington, Utah; 12 step grandchildren; 1 step sister, Mary Francis ?Fran? Wolfe of Powell, Wyoming, numerous cousins, namely the Tom and Nancy Murphy family formerly of Gillette, Wyoming, the James Hicks family of Buffalo, Wyoming; aunt, Genevieve Thoeming family of Buffalo, Wyoming.He was preceded in death by his parents, his ?Pop? Archie Lindsey, paternal and maternal grandparents, numerous aunts and uncles, brother, Michael Geis, sister in law, Marie Geis and his only beloved step son, Steven Sabala.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to help benefit the American Cancer Society.
