Funeral services for Raymond ?Ray? Holzer will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 10, 2007 at St. Matthew?s Catholic Church with Father Cliff Jacobson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday, February 9, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #42.Ray Holzer passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming, from complications of surgery.Raymond ?Ray? Holzer was born on July 31, 1935 in Raleigh, North Dakota to Martin and Margaret (Nagel) Holzer. He was the 3rd of 6 children.As a child growing up, Ray worked on the family farm, and upon graduating the 8th grade he went to work doing road construction.In 1952, Ray entered the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, serving as a communications lineman. He was honorably discharged in 1954.On November 26, 1957, Ray married Alice LaDuke in Shields, ND. In 1969, he moved his family to Gillette, Wyoming, where he went to work in the oil field as a heavy equipment operator. At the time of his death, Ray worked for Three Way, Inc.Ray was a kind and caring man. He would do anything he could to help his family and friends.Ray?s hobbies included gardening with his grandchildren, camping, fishing, hunting, and woodworking.Ray is survived by his wife, Alice; his four children; Renee (Keith) Coyle; Kelly Holzer; Michael (Joan) Holzer; Kim (Tom) Klein; six grandchildren, Stephanie Quinn, Cody Coyle, Justin and Megan Klein, Haylee and Samantha Holzer; two brothers, and two sisters. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Joe.Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
