Funeral services for long time Gillette area resident, Larry Roesler, (63) will be held at 2:30 Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gillette, Wyoming.Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post No. 42 of Gillette.Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 on Thursday at the church.Larry was taken home to be with his beloved Lord and Savior on January 9, 2007, after a long and courageous battle with emphysema and cancer.He was born on October 21, 1943 to Christian A. Roesler and Christina A. (Ulrich) Roesler in Glendive, Montana. Larry grew up in the Glendive area where he attended school in Dawson County, Montana and worked on the family farm. He served in the army from 1965 to 1967 and spent most of his tour of duty in Germany. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Montana where he lived until his move to Gillette in December of 1968. He worked for various oil companies in the Gillette area until 1972 when he went to work for Knigge Oil. In 1975 D.0. Inc. purchased Knigge Oil and Larry was employed by them delivering bulk fuel products until the time of his death.In March of 1969, Larry married Vickie Verworn of Terry, Montana. During their 25 year union they were blessed with four children. In August of 2002, Larry married Sandy (Hopkins) Lukert of Gillette.Larry was an active member of his church. He enjoyed his job and the people he worked with, bowling, square dancing, coin collecting and the Denver Broncos. One of his favorite pastimes was drinking coffee and visiting with his many friends. He loved to spend time with his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.Larry is survived by his first wife, Vickie Roesler of Billings, Mt. and their children: Teri and Larry McDaniel (Greely, Co.), Tracy and Heidi Roesler (Sheridan, Wy.), Trina and Gary Mills (Wright, Wy.), and Dustin Roesler (Gillette, Wy.); grandchildren, Tasha, Cameron, Grant, Ella, and step-grandchildren Amanda, Ashley and Austin; his wife Sandy Roesler, her children Angie Dunstan and Josh Lukert (Gillette): grandchildren Kolby and Shyla: brothers, Donald (Terry, Mt.), Raymond (Miles City, Mt.), Ken (Gillette): sisters, Betty Heick (New England, ND), Barbara Lestar (Gillette) and numerous nieces and nephews.Memorials and condolences may be sent in his name to Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210d W. 5th St., Gillette or e-mailed to www.stevensonwilson.com.
