Funeral services for Nell Sherard will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Gayle Potter of the Church of Christ in Abilene, Texas officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Friday, January 12, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home.Mrs. Sherard, age 94, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette of natural causes.Nell was born on March 29, 1912 the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Sharp) Vickers in Indianapolis, Indiana. She moved to Gillette with her family in 1915 to homestead North of Recluse, Wyoming. Nell married Orville Sherard in 1930 in Gillette, due to Orville?s work the family resided in the Red Lodge area and in Los Angels, California. In 1942 the family returned to Gillette where Nell was a homemaker. She took care of the livestock, sold chickens and turkeys. Nell enjoyed attending auctions and looking at antiques. She enjoyed hunting, elk, deer, antelope and fishing when ever she had a chance. Nell?s highlight of her years of fishing was catching a 20 pound trout at Flaming Gorge.Nell is survived by her son, Jack (Winnie) Sherard of Gillette, Wyoming; daughter, Mary (Floyd) Combe of Boise, Idaho and 6 grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, sister and 1 grandson.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Nell?s name in care of Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or via the internet at www.stevensonwilson.com.
