Funeral service for Ann Presley will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Gillette with Deaconess Kristen Baltrum of the Faith Community Lutheran Church of Longmont, Colorado officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette. Mrs. Presley, age 69, passed away surrounded by her family, Saturday, December 23, 2006 at her home in Gillette, WY from complications of chemotherapy treatments. Dolores Ann, known to her friends and family as Ann, was born on November 11, 1937 to John and Gladys (Dale) Vaughn in Clarksville, Texas. Ann was raised and educated in East Texas. On July 19, 1957 she married Gene Presley in Hobbs, New Mexico, where the couple made their home and started their family. In 1978 the family moved to Gillette, Wyoming. Ann's primary focus was caring for her kids and husband. She was a wonderful cook and excellent homemaker that kept an immaculate home. She owned and operated Ann's Square Dance Apparel for some years and when her children were older, Ann worked for several years at Lerwicks Home Furnishings. Ann enjoyed many hours of square dancing with her husband and friends and camping with family and friends. Her favorite pastimes were needlepoint and crocheting. She was a gifted artist, creating many oil paintings. Ann took delight in her grandchildren and grand-dog "Poco". She would take every opportunity to play and spend time with them. Ann enjoyed trips to visit her grandchildren as well as many trips to Deadwood, South Dakota and Las Vegas, Nevada. Ann was a member of the Red Hat Society and Relay for Life. She was active in the Senior Center with various activities which included painting. Over the last four years she endured many chemotherapy treatments, but always had a great spirit and strength that inspired all those around her. Ann will be sadly missed by her husband, Gene Presley of Gillette. They would have celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in 2007. Her three daughters: Suzy Haskins and her former husband Kevin Haskins, Kelli Presley all of Gillette, Wyoming, Mandy Wormke and husband Shawn of Longmont, Colorado; eight grandchildren: Caswell Presley, Nikki Presley, Joe, Adie, Jake and Dusty Haskins, grand-dog, Poco, Sarah and Braden Wormke; Mother, Gladys Childers; sister, Dorothy Crawford both of Hobbs, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her father, seven siblings and her son Mike Presley in 2005.Memorials are suggested in Ann's name.
