Funeral services for Charles Bruce Hudson, age 73, of Gillette, Wyoming will be held Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 10:00 am at the Cornerstone Church of God with Pastor Bob Rudichar officiating. Burial will follow at the Moorcroft Cemetery at approximately 12:30 pm. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post # 42 of Gillette. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home in Gillette.Charles Bruce Hudson passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family and friends on Friday, December 15, 2006.He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on May 14, 1933 to Alex and May (Miles) Hudson. The family moved to National City, California when he was a young boy, and he grew up there with his brother, Louis and five cousins Walter Jr., Claudelle, Charles, Fred and Barbara Ann, who his parents also raised. Charles served as an Air Force fireman during the Korean War and was stationed in England. He then returned to National City where he and his first wife Ella had two daughters, Gloria and Maxine. They were divorced, and he move to Los Angeles. He later married Charolette, and became daddy and grandpa to her family. They still remain close, though he and Charolette were divorced. Charles and Donna MacDonald met in the middle 1990?s when she was in California working and caring for Mary Lee (Nana) Todd. They used to all sit and have a snack together and discuss Louis L?Amour books. He loved reading about the west. On December 19, 1998 Charles and Donna were wed in a religious ceremony at the Crossroads II Church of God in Christ, where Charles served as deacon. They returned to Wyoming in June 2005, and built a new home in Gillette where they could have lots of room for his wheelchair and their large group of children and grandchildren. Charles loved racing down the street in his electric wheelchair last summer with three of his grandsons on their bikes as escorts. He love playing with his grandchildren, and being with his dog Doodle, who was his constant companion. He also liked playing Rummy and going on long rides.Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Louis, his cousin, Barbara Ann, and his daughter, Gloria.He is survived by his first wife Ella, his daughter Maxine Robinson, Six grandchildren and three great grandchildren in San Diego, California, his second wife Charolette, her daughter Patricia Winston, 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren in Los Angeles, California, his wife Donna and his mother-in-law Elfreda Buscaglia of Gillette, Wyoming, step daughter Tracey Williams and grandsons Dennis Jr., Garrhett, and Douglas Williams all of Gillette, Wyoming, stepson Richard MacDonald (Erika nad granddaughters Krystal and Sydney MacDonald all of Moorcroft, Wyoming, stepdaughter Brittany and grandson Austin Griffith both of Moorcroft, Wyoming, stepdaughter Stacey (Jeremy) Reynolds and grandson Mason and granddaughters Emily and Sheridan Reynolds all of Moorcroft, Wyoming.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Charles?s name in care of Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or via the internet at www.stevensonwilson.com.
