Funeral services for Marjorie Anna (Scholz) Lawrence, 87, formally of Moorcroft, will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Stake Center in Gillette on Monday, October 30, 2006 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Moorcroft Cemetery. She died at the Wind River Health Care Center in Riverton on October 24, 2006, after a long illness.Marjorie born at home on February 9, 1919 in Thermopolis, Wyoming to Alvon M. Scholz and Annie Rozella Wirth. She was the 4th of six children born to Alvon and Annie. She grew up in Thermopolis and attended grade school and high school there. Marjorie married Claude (Bud) Lawrence on June 15, 1938 in Thermopolis. They had five boys and two girls. They lived in the Thermopolis area until 19851 when they moved to Shoshoni and ran a Caf there for a short time. In 1982 they moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, where Bud had various jobs. Marjorie worked with him on one of those jobs and they were bakers in a local bakery. While living in Sandpoint they took their family to the Cardston Alberta Temple where they has their marriage solemnized and had their family sealed to them. In 1954 they moved back to Wyoming and lived in East Thermopolis. Bud worked for various ranches in the Thermopolis, Lost Cabin, and Jeffery?s City area. In 1972 they moved to Moorcroft. Shortly after Bud?s death in 1979, Marjorie served an eighteen month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Washington D.C. Temple. She was also called to serve in the Denver Colorado Temple from 1992 until 1996. In 2001 her health started failing and she moved to the Riverton area to be closer to her two daughters. She went into the Wind River Health Care Center in 2003 and was there until her death. Marjorie loved to be around her family. She liked to do genealogy, read, play scrabble, do cross word and jigsaw puzzles.Marjorie is survive by one sister, Cleo Ayre of Menan, Idaho; her seven children: Chuck and (Zelda) Lawrence of Moorcroft, Wyoming, Rodney and (Ruth) Lawrence of Moorcroft, Wyoming, Tom and (Bonnie) Lawrence of Billings, Montana, Sandra Lawrence of Riverton, Wyoming, Dennis and (Diana) Lawrence of Wright, Wyoming, (Mickey) and Rebecca Fike of Shoshoni, Wyoming, Rocky and (Shirley) Lawrence of El Cajon, California, 40 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, her husband, 1 grandchild and 1 great grandchild.
