Sharon Goins

Funeral services for Sharon Goins will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 26, 2006 at the Gillette Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Gillette with Bishop Christopher Jackson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Sharon Goins, age 57, of Gillette died Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at her home from several health complications. Sharon Ann was born April 11, 1949 in Sheridan, Wyoming the daughter of Bernard and Vivian (Cordingly) Horn. The family made their home in Upton where Sharon was raised and educated graduating in 1968. After high school Sharon traveled extensively including Germany and New York. In the early seventies Sharon attended Nursing School in Cleveland, Tennessee where she earned her LPN. She married Smiley Goins and from this union they had a daughter, Crystal. After four years of marriage Smiley died of a heart attack and Sharon moved with her daughter and mother to Gillette. Sharon worked as a nurse at Campbell County Memorial Hospital for a couple of years before moving to Newcastle where she worked at the assisted living center there. In 1996 she moved back to Gillette. Sharon was ready to try something new so she began working at Wendy?s, then Burger King and finally Wal-Mart, until her health wouldn?t allow her to work any longer. Sharon was a collector of eagles and clocks. She loved the holidays and would spare nothing to go all out. She also loved animals and spending time with her grandchildren, especially Chance. Sharon also enjoyed reading magazines and Archie comics. She will be remembered for her gum chewing, blowing bubbles and leaving her mark with a trail of bubble tape. Sharon will be missed by her 2 daughters: Crystal Goins and Priscilla Sams; 1 sister, Sandra Porter and 6 grandchildren, all of Gillette, Wyoming. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
