Graveside services for Douglas W. Fredrick will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at the Bethlehem Cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming with Reverend David Burger officiating of the Bethlehem Community Church.Douglas Fredrick, age 81, of Superior, Nebraska died on Monday, August 14th, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Superior of cardiac arrest.Douglas was born on August 27, 1924 in Gillette, Wyoming the son of Uber and Mildred Fredrick. He graduated from Campbell County High School in 1942, and was employed by True Oil Exploration Company until he joined the United States Marine Corp during WWII, serving 2 years. After an honorable discharge he returned to Gillette and became an apprentice in his father?s mechanic business under the GI Bill. Years later he managed his parent?s ranch east of Upton, Wyoming. Following the death of his parents, he moved to Superior where he resided for the remainder of his life. Douglas was a self-taught artist, antiques collector and a history buff. Douglas is survived by brothers and sisters: Marie Jewett of Modesto, California, Charles & Bernice Fredrick of Richland, Washington, Gay Baalhorn of Casper, Wyoming, Alan and Nancy Fredrick of Upton, Wyoming, Roger Fredrick of Stanwood, Washington, Cheri and Charles Reese of Shawnee, Wyoming, Millie Fredrick of Richmond, California and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Douglas?s name to Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or via the internet at www.stevensonwilson.com.
