Max Fee

July 2, 1917 — July 29, 2006

Since Mothers passing four years ago the one memory in 62 years of memories that Dad loved to reminisce was that summer day in 1940 on the shore of Payette Lake when his eyes first gazed into the eyes of that lovely lady. And in those fleeting moments were the beginnings of us, our children, and our many grandchildren. Max and Mary were married September 19, 1940. They resided in Moscow while Max continued to work toward a degree in Forestry. In 1943 Max was inducted into the armed services as a bombadier in the Army Air Force. With the war at end and a degree in Forestry behind them Max and Mary accepted a position with the Payette National Forest on the Krassel District in 1948. In 1950 Max was a permanent Forester with the Payette. In 1957 he accepted the district ranger position for the Warren Ranger District on the Payette. In 1963 the Fee family moved to Cedar City Utah where Max took a job with the Dixie National Forest. Max and Mary retired from the Regional Office in Ogden Utah in 1978 and moved to Caldwell Idaho where they spent their retirement years. Mary Eleanor Montgomery Fee died on December 27, 2002. For the next four years Max lived with his daughter Colleen in Boise Idaho, son Jeff in Omak Washington, and son Matt in Wright Wyoming. Max entered the Pioneer Manor nursing home in Gillette Wyoming in March 2006 and died on July 29, 2006. Max is survived by his children Colleen Heinrich Lunstrum, Jeff Fee, and Matt Fee: and grandchildren, Olivia Fee, Dustin Fee, Billy Fee, Shane Fee, Dana Kobe, and Mark Heinrich. As requested by Dad we will hold a family memorial service on the shores of Payette Lake for our Father and Mother. We want to express our thanks for the love and care the people of the Pioneer Manor gave to Dad during his last days. We want to express our love and gratitude for the wonderful (living and gone) family, extended family, and friends Mom and Dad had throughout their lives. We would like to pay special thanks to all of our spouses: Kenny, Linda and Carol for helping all of us through this trying time in our lives. If Dad and Mom would have had an opportunity to send out a message to their grandchildren in the last days of their life it would read something like this - all people are equal in god?s eyes where ever they are, what ever their challenges. In meeting those challenges unlock that divine source within and you will find precisely what you are searching for? and you will realize life was never quite what you perceived it to be. God bless all? God bless all the animals, all life forms and this sacred earth we have the privilege to live upon. Our Love will always be with you.
