Funeral services for LaDona Maae (Crawford) Whetham of Gillette, Wyoming will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church with Pastors Chad and Sonja Brucklacher officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.LaDona died on Friday, July 21, 2006 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette of cancer.LaDona was born in Redbird, Nebraska on October 13, 1934 the daughter of Theordore and Annettia Mae (Miller) Crawford. She graduated high school in Spencer, Nebraska. She attended Wayne State Teacher?s College. LaDona taught rural school for three years. On June 5, 1953 she married Lloyd Whetham in O?Neill, Nebraska. The couple spent most of their married life in Newcastle, Wyoming and moved to Gillette, Wyoming in 1992. LaDona worked in several occupations from teacher to truck driver. Her most cherished work was as wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed working with the elderly, working on family history, doing crafts and spending time with family and friends. LaDona is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Linda and DickBradford of Gillette, Wyoming, son and daughter-in-law; Steve and Julie Whetham of Dix, Nebraska, daughter and son-in-law; Cheryl and Jukka Huhtiniemi of Tampere, Finland, grandchildren: Jenny Bradford of Gillette, Wyoming, Kristin and John Cina of Rapid City, South Dakota, Annie Whetham of Chadron, Nebraska, Mark Whetham of Dix, Nebraska, and Jussi and Ville Huhtimiemi of Jankoski, Finland, sisters: Pam Tikalsky of Spencer, Nebraska and Dorothy Lederer of Norfolk, Nebraska, father-in-law, Robert Whetham of Newcastle, Wyoming and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; parents, Ted and Mae Crawford; mother-in-law, Vada Whetham; sister and brother-in law, Jean and Wilbur Staples and her grandparents.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Campbell County Healthcare Foundation to benefit Hospice of Campbell County, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and the American Cancer Society.
