Dorothy Steele, age 92, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home of complication of a stroke.Dorothy Brouillard Wiechert Steele was born on February 15, 1914 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Walter C. Brouillard and Mary Mabel Nelson. After her mother died during childbirth and her father never returned from World War I, she and her 3 sisters and 2 brothers were put in a Chicago orphanage. She was adopted when she was six by John and Scaba Wiechert, and lived the dream every little girl envisions. While working as a secretary in Chicago for the So. Works of U.S. Steel Company, she met and married Albert A. Steele II of Dallas, Texas. They had a wonderful, happy marriage that bore them 3 children. They traveled and moved often, enjoying life to the fullest. Dorothy lived in 32 homes in Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Texas, Colorado and finally Gillette, Wyoming in 1978 that taught her spontaneity. She had a strong and positive outlook on life, never allowing for negativity. She believed she could achieve anything as shown in her hobbies of knitting, crocheting, oil painting and quilting of which many Gillette residents can attest because of her gifts. Dorothy also worked for several businesses in Gillette.She is survived by her daughter; Diana Joan Patrick of Gillette, Wyoming, son; John James (Deborah) Steele of Castle Rock, Colorado, granddaughter; MaLinda Perry of Gillette, Wyoming and great grandson; Ashton McNalley of Gillette, Wyoming; grandson: Robert (Ann) McGinnis of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, great granddaughters: Amber and Abbie McGinnis of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and great grandson; Jason (Kristen) Steele of Broomfield, Colorado. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Albert A. Steele II and son, Albert A.
