Funeral Services for Jay Allen Yarn, 42, of Gillette, formerly of Shelby, MT will be held at 10:00 am Monday at Stevenson Funeral Home, Gillette. Pastor Erin Youngs of High Plains Community Church will officiate. A reception to celebrate Jay?s life will follow at Indians Hills Rec Center, 1000 Indian Hills Dr.. A Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-7 pm at Stevenson Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday June 14, at Mountain View Cemetery in Shelby, MT at 2:00 pm. Pastor Joe Haugestuen will officiate.Jay Allen Yarn left us to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 7, 2006. Jay?s passing was a result of injuries he received in a motorcycle accident in Gillette on June 2nd. Jay was born in Libby, MT on August 4th, 1963 to Margaret and Larry Yarn. In his early childhood years, he lived in Libby, MT, then moved to Tacoma, WA where he completed his education and obtained a degree in welding. He moved to Gillette in 1981 where he worked in the oilfields, He returned to Tacoma where he worked with his brother-in-law in construction. In 1989, he moved to Shelby, MT where he married his wife Debra and together they had two children, a daughter Shannon Yarn DeVera and a son Kyle. While in Shelby, Jay held various jobs including working for Dick Irwin Trucking, BNSF, and Hurley Trucking. In 2001, Jay returned to Gillette where he was employed by Minserco, Interstate Detroit Diesel, and Black Thunder Coal Mine where he was currently employed as a welder-mechanic.Jay?s favorite pastimes included working on and riding his motorcycle, fishing, and cooking for his family. Jay was also an avid Seahawks fan and spent many hours spoiling his three grandchildren, Cassidy, Cameron, and Alisa.Jay is survived by his wife, Debra and son Kyle both of Gillette, his daughter Shannon Yarn DeVera, his mother, Margaret Yarn , his brother Larry, all of Shelby, MT, as well as a sister Donna Haberman of Mesa, AZ and his sister Julie Schomer of Gillette.Jay?s nephews and nieces include Curtis, Jayce, and RaeAnn Yarn of Shelby, MT, Terry Haberman of Billings, MT, Jennifer Haberman of Mesa, AZ, Brian Schomer of Colorado Springs, CO, Greg and Jeff Schomer, both of Gillette.Jay was preceded in death by his father, Larry B. Yarn, his brother Steven Ray Yarn and a Nephew Steven Ray Haberman.In lieu of flowers, the family has established a college fund for Kyle Yarn.
