Funeral Services for Allen W. Hudson, 68, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2006 at the American Legion Hall with Chaplain Ralph Reed of the Hospice of Campbell County Memorial Hospital officiating. Dress is casual. Burial will follow at Mt Pisgah Cemetery, Gillette with Military Honors by American Legion Post 42. There will be a reception to celebrate Allen?s life at the American Legion Hall following the graveside rites. A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 5 pm to 8 pm at Stevenson Funeral Home. Allen passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2006 at his home in Gillette, WY of complications of cancer. He was born on February 7, 1938 in Alexander, ND to Willard and Thelma (Dexter) Hudson and was raised in the Williston, ND area. Allen served in the US Navy from September 1955 to February 1959 and was stationed on board various aircraft carriers in the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets. After the service, Allen met and married Janet Longwell of Thermopolis, WY in 1962 and later moved to Gillette in 1970. Allen worked in the oilfield for many years as a skilled truck driver while working for Getter Trucking, Blackhawk Crane and Rigging and later Eldridge Excavating before retiring. Allen met Millie Schnaible and was remarried in 1996 and has spent 10 wonderful years with kids and grandkids. He became an avid woodworker. Allen also enjoyed fishing and was well known for his enthusiastic camping. Allen made friends everywhere he went and you knew he liked you when he gave you an ornery answer and a hard time! Allen is survived by his wife, Millie of Gillette and six children; Valerie Weeding of Gillette, Don (Terri) Hudson of Twin Lakes, ID, Tom (Vieka) Hudson of Pleasant Hill, IA, Lisa (Brian) Tennant of Gillette, Tim(Tyra) Schnaible of Gillette and Delayne (Wade) Howie of Gillette, thirteen grandchildren, Carrie Walters Weeding, Christa Walters Weeding and Chase Weeding, Christopher Hudson, Jordan Hudson, Jessica Hudson, Tori Hudson, Kati Hudson, CJ Rhodes, Tanner Schnaible, Tailey Schnaible, Evan Howie, and Carson Howie and one great grand child, Tajah Raye Edwards, one brother and five sisters all of North Dakota. Allen was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet in 1992, his parents Willard and Thelma, and an older sister Marg Crough.
