Funeral services for Mauretta Hoffman of Gillette, Wyoming will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2006 at St. Matthew?s Catholic Church with Father Cliff Jacobsen officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 with a vigil prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette. Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Mauretta Ann Hoffman, age 54, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Monday, May 22, 2006 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital from complications of Multiple Sclerosis. Mauretta was born on October 30, 1951 the daughter of Maurice and Lauretta (Ryan) Krogstad in Plentywood, Montana. She was raised and educated in Plentywood. Mauretta received her Business Associate in education from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. She married Edgar R. Hoffman on May 13, 1977 in Gillette, Wyoming. Mauretta taught 13 years of elementary school in Montana and Campbell County including the Gap County School, Westside Elementary and Paintbrush Elementary. She was also the first female Volunteer Firefighter in Gillette receiving a Lifelong Achievement Award. Mauretta was a member of the St. Matthew?s Catholic Church in Gillette. Mauretta loved children and taught them as if they were her own. Her hobbies included scuba diving in the Bahamas and the Cayman Islands, fishing in the Big Horn Mountains, Aruba and local lakes, horseback riding in the Big Horn Mountains, snowmobiling and enjoying her life with her husband and best friend Ed. Mauretta is survived by her husband; Edgar Hoffman of Gillette, Wyoming, brothers: Eldon (Kathy) Krogstad, Harold Krogstad both of Plentywood, Montana, Duane (Sheila) Krogstad of Bismarck, North Dakota, Arlin (Pam) Krogstad of Billings, Montana and Ronald (Joanna) Krogstad of Manhattan, Montana, sister, Mary Jean (Joe) Naglich of Kalispell, Montana. She was preceded in death by her parents Maurice and Lauretta Krogstad and brother Lauren Krogstad.
