Funeral services for Bernice (Robinson) Tarver will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 19, 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Scott Firminhac officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Gillette, Wyoming. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Bernice (Robinson) Tarver, age 94, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Monday, May 15, 2006 at her home of natural causes.Bernice Irma Robinson was born on December 30, 1911 the daughter of George Sr. and Myrtle (Paisley) Robinson in Douglas, Wyoming. She was raised and educated on the Campbell and Converse County line. She attended college in Chadron, Nebraska for two years and then she taught school in Bill, Wyoming before marrying Lynn Tarver in 1937. The couple later moved to northern Campbell County where two sons were born Gary and Bob Tarver. Lynn worked on different ranches until 1949 when they leased their first ranch for seven years on Wildcat Creek. The family moved in the fall of 1956 to Hunter Ranch where they ran cows, horses and sheep until the death of her husband Lynn in the spring of 1968. She stayed on the ranch with her sons until the fall of 1970 when she moved to town where she lived until her death. Bernice enjoyed her family, friends and faith which nurtured her through the many years of her life. She had a green thumb for plants and could bring the worst conditioned plants back to life. She had a very touching hand and kindness for life in general. Bernice enjoyed oil painting, especially flowers which revealed the softness in her heart. She was known for very little if any complaining all of her life.Bernice is survived by her 2 sons: Bob and his wife Nancy Tarver of Gillette, Wyoming and Gary and his special friend Audrey Tarver of Gillette, Wyoming, 2 sisters: Betty Lou and her husband Jim Thulesen of Newell, South Dakota and Ann Robinson of Gillette, Wyoming, 2 brothers: George Robinson of Malta, Montana and Bob and his wife Virginia Robinson of Broadus, Montana, 4 grandchildren: Reuben and his wife Jennifer Tarver, Mike Tarver, Robert and his wife Michelle Tarver and James and his wife Jamie Tarver, 6 great grandchildren: Ethan Tarver, Tayler Tarver, Wyatt Tarver, Connor Tarver, Michael Tarver and Carter Tarver and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother.Memorials may be made in Bernice?s name to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Campbell County Healthcare Foundation to benefit Hospice of Campbell County Memorial Hospital.
