Funeral services for Howard Herdt, Jr. will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 8, 2006 at Stevenson Funeral Home Chapel with Kenna Rose officiating.Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 7, 2006 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Gillette, Wyoming. Interment will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #42 of Gillette, Wyoming.Howard Herdt Jr., age 75, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Campbell County Hospital of natural causes.Howard was born on November 8, 1930 the son of Walter and Ida (Salseg) Herdt in Eckman, North Dakota. He was raised and educated in Eckman. Howard farmed and also worked on drilling rigs which brought him to Gillette, Wyoming where he worked until his retirement. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles and American Legion Post #42 in Gillette. His hobbies included fishing, darts, playing pitch and throwing horse shoes.Howard is survived by his sons: Michael Herdt of Rawlings, Wyoming and Gary Herdt of Gillette, Wyoming, daughters: Diane Raley, Gail Herdt and Nancy Koch all of Gillette, Wyoming, brothers: Robert Herdt and Harold Herdt both of North Dakota, Raymond Herdt and Kenneth Herdt both of Minnesota, sisters: Sally Poindexter of Florida, Ardella Newgard and Eunice Herdt both of North Dakota, Beverly Merk and Lonnie Blackketter both of Minnesota, Karen Secord of Wisconsin; 6 grandchildren and 1great grandchild.
