Funeral services for Hazel Townsend of Gillette, Wyoming will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 1, 2006 at the First Assembly of God Church in Gillette, Wyoming with Pastor Orvil Holden officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2006 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.Hazel Mae Townsend, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at Pioneer Manor of natural causes.Hazel was born in Clinton, Oklahoma on February 10, 1932 to Milton and Cynthia (Dobson) Drake. She attended school in Clinton, Oklahoma until the age of 12. Hazel then moved to California with her half sister, Lillie G. Quillin. She attended school in Turlock, California. After moving to Sweetwater, Texas she met and married Robert Dwight Townsend on July 27, 1949. Hazel moved with her family from Texas to New Mexico and then to Wyoming in 1960. Hazel enjoyed raising her children, and was known for her spotless housekeeping. Her favorite time spent was with the love of her life, her husband Robert. Hazel was also an avid fisherman. She was always happy to sit around and play cards or visit with her family. Hazel made sure she was in church on every Sunday that she was able to make.Hazel is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Ed) Campbell of Gillette, Wyoming; 4 grandchildren: Becky (Dwayne) Stout of Andrews, Texas, Robert (Michelle) Campbell of Gillette, Wyoming, Mike (Tracy) Campbell of Greeley, Colorado, and Angie Lushine of Gillette, Wyoming; and 4 great grandchildren: Amanda, Rebecca, Brittany and Dalton.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, 2 daughters: Cindy Lushine and Debra Townsend, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Hazel?s name in care of Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or via the internet at www.stevensonandsons.com.
