Funeral services for Gertrude M. Tesch, age 95, of Rozet, Wyoming will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 31, 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Scott Firminhac officiating. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Mountain Lawn Cemetery in Lead, South Dakota with Pastor Jared Tuchor of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Stevenson Funeral Home. Gertrude Tesch passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at her daughter?s home in Rozet, Wyoming after a battle with cancer.Gertrude Margaret Tesch was born on July 8, 1910 in Blair, Nebraska to Carl and Marie (Nelson) Bratt. She was the youngest of thirteen children. Gertrude moved to Lead, South Dakota at the young age of sixteen. She married Arnold Tesch on July 12, 1930 at Rainbow Cliff in Boulder Canyon. After the death of her husband in 1958, she spent the next seven years raising her two youngest children. She then went to work as a housekeeper, a pool attendant for the City of Lead, South Dakota which was previously Homestake Recreation Center, until she retired at the age of 71. Gertrude resided in Lead, South Dakota until 2001 when she needed special care which she received from her daughter, Marlene and son-in-law, Bud Westre at their home near Rozet, Wyoming until her death. Gertrude loved having company and to bake and cook for her family and friends. She is survived by five children: Marlene (Bud) Westre of Rozet, Wyoming, Charles (Myrna) Tesch of Pine Haven, Wyoming, William (Sue) Tesch of Lakeville, Minnesota, David (Norma) Tesch of Lead, South Dakota and Arnold (Sherrie) Tesch of Lead, South Dakota; nine grandsons, three granddaughters, eighteen great grandsons, and three great granddaughters.Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold, sons: LeRoy and Robert Tesch; three granddaughters: Robin, Becky and Debbie Tesch and 1 great-granddaughter, Amanda; parents and twelve siblings.Memorials may be made in Gertrude?s name to Trinity Lutheran Church or Campbell County Memorial Hospital Hospice.
