A visitation and funeral service for Helen Edna Jones, 79, of Gillette will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2006 at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Pastor Orvil Holden of the First Assembly of God will officiate.Helen passed away at Campbell County Memorial Hospital on Thursday, March 9, 2006 of complications of pneumonia. She was born Helen Edna Apostol on September 3, 1926 in the oilfields of Osage, Wyoming to George Gustav Apostol and Ruth Greeno. She attended elementary school in Osage and graduated from high school in Newcastle. Before her marriage she worked as a waitress and in a law firm in Sheridan. On September 3, 1948 she married William Chester Martin Jones in Upton, Wyoming. From 1948 to 1953 they homesteaded on the Jones? Ranch in Carrington, ND. From 1953 to 1955 they lived in Upton. In 1955 they moved to Gillette where they both worked as cooks at the Goings Caf. They retired in 1971. From 1971 to 1973 Helen operated the C&H Pool Hall. After retiring a second time Helen opened her home to family and friends. The coffee pot was on 24 hours a day. Helen?s loves in life were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, birds and her puppy dogs.Helen is survived by her 4 children: Terry Lee Jones of Pampa, Texas, Nancy Marie Leiker of Ft. Worth, Texas, William Ronald Jones, Sr. of Gillette, Wyoming and Ancil George Jones of Gillette, Wyoming; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Herman Apostol of Georgia and James Apostol of Evanston, Wyoming; 1 sister, Dorothy Welch of Lewiston, Montana.Helen was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-seven years, William, her parents and 1 son, Edward Dean Jones and 1 granddaughter, Tammy Marie Leiker.
