Funeral services for Donnie Blakeman, age 30, of Gillette, Wyoming will be held at 2:30 P.M., Friday, March 10, 2006 at the Moorcroft Elementary School in Moorcroft, Wyoming with Pastors Donavon Voigt from the First Presbyterian Church and Randy Blakeman of Cornerstone Ministries both of Moorcroft officiating. Interment will follow in the Moorcroft Cemetery in Moorcroft, Wyoming. Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home of Gillette is entrusted with the arrangements.Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Gillette. Mr. Blakeman passed away on Monday, March 6, 2006 in Gillette, Wyoming of unknown causes. Donald Wayne Blakeman was born on July 8, 1975 in Newcastle, Wyoming to Tom and Connie (Smith) Blakeman. He spent his childhood years in Moorcroft. He was very athletic in all the sports he chose to participate in. In his junior year Donnie took 1st place in the 400 meter dash at state, which was a big thrill for him. Donnie graduated from Moorcroft High School in 1993. Upon his graduation Donnie attended Black Hills University for one year and Casper College for another. After meeting his future wife, Stacey Pixley, he moved to Laramie, Wyoming where he attended Laramie Community College for two years. The couple was married on July 31, 1999 at Mallo Camp in Newcastle, Wyoming. He received his RN License in 2002. He was a very loving, caring devoted nurse, as well as son, brother, husband and father. Donnie enjoyed golfing, swimming at the lake with his kids and fishing with his brothers. He also enjoyed the many family BBQ?s visiting with his family while playing horse shoes and just hanging out.Donnie is survived by his wife and her family; their 2 sons: Jett and Oakley all of Gillette, Wyoming; parents: Tom and Connie Blakeman of Moorcroft, Wyoming; three brothers: Troy Blakeman, Jody and his wife Rhianon both of Moorcroft, Wyoming and Doug and his wife Wendy Blakeman of Gillette, Wyoming, seven nieces and nephews and several aunts, uncles and cousins.He was preceded in death by his grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.In lieu of flowers memorials in Donnie?s name are suggested to benefit his children?s education fund.
