Funeral services for Allen Patz, Sr. of Gillette, Wyoming will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 10, 2006 at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Morgan of the High Plains Community Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post #42. Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 42 of Gillette.Allen Patz, age 60, passed away of natural causes on Sunday, March 5, 2006 at his home. Allen was born in Marinette, Wisconsin on January 22, 1946 the son of Albert and Ella (Kobus) Patz. He was raised in Pound, Wisconsin and educated in Coleman, Wisconsin. He lived and worked on a dairy farm until he left for the United States Air Force on January 25, 1965. Allen served a large part of his service in Sundance, Wyoming which he loved. Upon his completion of his tour of duty he returned to Sundance where he worked for various ranches around the area and cooked at the ARO Caf where he met Judy Marie (Bock). The couple married on September 19, 1971 and moved to the Arlidge Ranch outside of Upton, Wyoming where they worked for two years. From there they moved to the Dick Durfey Ranch where they worked one year before moving to the Daly Ranch in august of 1974 where he remained until his death. Al and Judy were blessed with a son, Allen C. Patz Jr. and two daughters: Angela and Marji Patz. 2005 was a year of great joy as he welcomed Bobbie Lynn (Smith) Patz into the family, got his first new pick-up and shot his first elk, on top of making many new friends in the Medicine Bow, Wyoming area and spending quality time with old friends. Al enjoyed horses, hunting, roping, rodeos and dutch oven cooking. Al?s greatest love was for his family and received great joy from watching them succeed.Allen is survived by his wife, Judy Marie Patz of Gillette, Wyoming; son, Allen C.(Bobbie) Patz Jr. of Wright, Wyoming; daughter, Angela Sue Patz of Council Bluffs, Iowa; daughter, Marji Jo Patz of Medicine Bow, Wyoming; mother, Ella Patz of Pound, Wisconsin; brother, Lawrence Patz of Upton, Wyoming and one grandson, Devon Chase Brogdan of Eaton, Colorado.He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Patz.Memorials and condolences may be made in Allen?s name in care of Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210 West 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming or via the internet at www.stevensonandsons.com.
