Funeral services for Charley Ed Howe, age 87, of Gillette, Wyoming will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, January 27, 2006 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dale Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, January 26, 2006 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.Charley passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 26, 2006 at Pioneer Manor in Gillette, Wyoming.Charley was born on News Years Day, 1919 in Beatty, Kansas to Henry J. and Mary I. (Lonberg) Howe. He attended Grenada County School in Colorado. Charley helped his dad on their farm in Colorado. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1941 and served throughout Northern France and Germany in WWII as a truck driver. After the war he returned to Gillette, Wyoming to continue farming. He then worked at the Co-Op until his retirement. Charley married Rose Corson in January 19, 1967 Charley was a wonderful caregiver helping Rose care for her eleven children. He enjoyed driving cars and trucks and riding his motorcycle.Charley is survived by his wife; Rose of Gillette, Wyoming, his children: Steve (Sue) Howe of Naples, Utah and Leann (Jim)Allen of Vernal, Utah, step children: Don(Dorothy) Corson of Gillette, Wyoming, Jean (Kent) Behrent of Sterling, Colorado, Ruth Corson of Torrington, Wyoming, Pam (Allen) Baughman of Gillette, Wyoming, Edna (Earl) Winter of Alliance, Nebraska, Amelia Rose Corson of Wheatland, Wyoming, Andy Corson of California, and Rebecca Lynn (Ron) Vandow of Gillette, Wyoming, 49 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and many great great grandson.He was preceded in death by his step children: Besie, Ramos, Martha Louise Gallegos and Marcine Audrey Lamere.Memorials may be made to Jericho Baptist Church.
