Graveside funeral service for Benjamin Shipley, age 64, of Gillette will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2006 at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming with Pastor Dan Morgan of High Plains Community Church officiating. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post #42Benjamin T. Shipley died, surrounded by his loved ones, Saturday, January 21, 2006 at his home of an apparent cardiac event.Benjamin Shipley was born February 11, 1941 the son of Benjamin and Catherine Shipley in Omaha, Nebraska. Benny was raised and educated in Sheridan, Wyoming. He married Judy Blakeman in 1960 in Sheridan, Wyoming, they later divorced. Benny served in the 101st Army Airborne Division as a paratrooper from January 1959 to April 1962. Benny worked as an over-the-road truck driver and truly enjoyed his time traveling. He also worked for Boeing Aircraft for 6 years. He also loved football, especially watching the Denver Broncos. After Benny retired he liked prospecting, spending time with his family, playing the guitar and fishing. Benny was also an avid reader.He is survived by 2 sisters; Corita (Harry) Burton of Greybull, Wyoming and Karen (Lee) McClure of Gillette, Wyoming, 1 brother, Michael (Janet) Legerski of Lovell, Wyoming and many nieces and nephews.Benny was preceded in death by his parents.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Benny?s name in care of Stevenson Funeral Home, 210 W. 5th St., Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or via the internet at www.stevensonandsons.com
