Funeral service for Earl Walter Franzen of Gillette, Wyoming will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2005 at First Assembly of God with Pastor Orvil Holden officiating. Intermit to follow after service at Mount Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home in Gillette, Wyoming.Earl Walter Franzen, age 78, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away Monday, June 6, 2005 at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital of natural causes. Earl Franzen was born to Henry Franzen and Nell (Wills) Franzen on November 22, 1926 in Sentinel Butte, North Dakota Earl Served in the United States Army for four years. He received a World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation MedalHe married Gloria Andreen on January 12, 1961 in Meeteetse, Wyoming. They moved to Gillette, Wyoming in 1962 where they had four children. Earl worked for McCullough Gas for five years then he went to work for Ken & Rita Neal the owners of Gane Production from 1968-1988 and proceeded into the Oilfield Shop from 1988 to 1999 then retired in 1999. He enjoyed gardening, reading his bible, listening to the University of Wyoming?s sporting events and watching his six grandchildren.Earl is survived by his four children, Becky & (Rob) Hoover of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Wayne Franzen of Gillette, Wyoming; Barb (Larry) Brooks of Gillette, Wyoming; Donnie (Jeanie Rae) Franzen of Gillette, Wyoming. Six grandchildren Ryan, Brandon & Jaymen Brooks; Josh & Hayden Franzen, and Caitlyn Hoover. Three sisters Pearl Nelson of Minnesota; Irma Schaffer of Montana; Cheryl Befuf of Riverton, Wyoming and one brother Maurice Franzen of Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers Al Franzen, Clayton Franzen, Jack Franzen, and one sister Marie Sell.
