Memorialservices for Frances "Frankie"McClure age 88, of Gillette, Wyoming, will be held Thursday, May 19, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Stevenson Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Gillette, WY, Pastor Andrew Carsrud of the Family Life Church officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Frances ?Frankie? Vergith McClure was born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 2, 1916, the daughter of Sid and Alma (Larsen) Vergith. She spent three years in Omaha and then with her parents, she moved northwest of Moorecroft, Wyoming. In 1919, they moved to a homestead where they ranched. Frances went to country grade school thru 8th grade and in the summer of 1933, she met Alfred McClure while he was riding for Harris Land & Livestock where the Wagon Hammer Ranch is now. They were married in May of 1934 and had two daughters, Billee Hackett of Recluse, Wyoming and Faye DeSoto who is deceased.They ranched north of Recluse until Alfred passed away in 1990 and Frankie moved to Gillette and resided in Parkview Apartments. She was a good cook and enjoyed fixing a meal for whoever stopped in. She enjoyed her grandkids, and numerous other children that stayed during the summers. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, wooden ornaments, rug making, her animals, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Pleasant Hour Club.Frances is survived by her daughter, Billie Hackett of Recluse, WY; two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Chuck Vergith, her husband Alfred McClure, and a daughter, Faye DeSoto.Memorials in Frances? name are suggested to benefit the Recluse Community Hall or a charity of ones choice.
