Ada Joy Clevenger

Ada “Joy” Clevenger age 83, of Gillette, WY passed away at her son’s home in Gillette, WY on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery with Pastor Phil Jones of Roadway Alliance Church officiating. Ada Joy Clevenger was born to Harold E. Rank and Ruby Naomi (Harlow) Rank on April 7, 1941, in Kamiah, Idaho. Ada Joy married John Ira Markley; to this union, three children were born. Rex Allen Markley, John Randy Markley, and Susan Joy Markley. They later divorced. Ada Joy was chosen Small Business Person of Campbell County, by the Chamber of Commerce, in 1984. Ada Joy was very proud of the fact that she got the Gillette Beauty School, nationally accredited and certified by the United States Department of Education, so the students could get financial aid. In 1977, Ada Joy married Jack Clevenger; they had a good life together. After Ada Joy retired, they spent a lot of time in the Big Horn Mountains. Ada Joy was preceded in death by all of her grandparents, her parents, brothers, Bill Ross, Barney Ross, and Roger Rank; her daughter, Susan Joy Markley and an infant granddaughter, Jamie; step-grandson, Jave. Ada Joy is survived by her husband Jack; son’s Rex and Randy Markley;  step-daughters, Cindy Stone and Lynnet Clevenger; 6 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
