Memorial service for Alan DeMinck will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Deacon Kim Carroll officiating; inurnment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Alan Dale DeMinck of Gillette was born August 20, 1963 in Dell Rapids, SD. He graduated from Spearfish High School in 1982. Alan spent his working life running heavy equipment on road construction jobs and mining. Alan met Jacque Bowser in 1991 and they married August 1, 1992. They left the wedding reception on the back of Al’s Harley Davidson. Joining into this union was Jacque’s two daughters, Shannon and Kara. He was not only the only father they ever knew he was their dad. This family was heartbroken in 2002 when their precious Kara became an angel. Kara left behind three beautiful children which once again without hesitation Al accepted as his own. The family enjoyed many outdoor adventures like hunting, fishing, and camping. They loved boating and car shows. He was even brave enough to have taught all 5 children to drive. He taught them everything from changing tires to shooting guns to chopping and hauling wood, lots and lots of wood. A fond memory they all share is how Al would sneak them candy canes during midnight mass. We lost Alan suddenly to heart failure on December 16, 2017, he will be forever missed by his wife Jacque; sons, Mathew, Traiten and daughter, Tarena all of Gillette; daughter, Shannon (Danny) Atwood, granddaughter, Melanie all of Sealey, TX; his beloved mother-in-law, Phyllis Anderson; sister, Dixie (Mitch) Skogen all of Gillette, sister-in-law, Taina DeMinck of Douglas, two nephews, one niece, three, great-nephews, and one great-niece. He was preceded in death by both of his parents Charles and Shirley DeMinck of Spearfish, SD and his beloved brother, Richard (RD) of Douglas.
