Memorial service for Ann Herman will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Family Life Church in Gillette, WY with Pastor Burry Bessee officiating. Ann Herman age 77, of Gillette, WY passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at Close to Home Hospice in Gillette, WY. Ann Herman was born Ann Marie Garrison to Wayne and Arlene Garrison., August 23, 1941. She lived 10 miles Northwest of Wall and attended country school. The farm overlooked the Cheyenne River breaks. Ann graduate from Wall high school May 1959. She entered St. John McNamara School of Nursing and graduated as a RN in 1966. She married Wallace L. Swartz of Spearfish, SD, in 1962.Two children came from that Union, Jo Ellen and Gregory. In 1989 Ann married Garey Herman, owner of Tricon Construction, in Gillette, Wyoming. In 1992 she and Garey established Herman’s Furniture Restoration and Antiques. Ann was a professional nurse (RN) for 42 years and she served in several communities. Ann served on staff at Lookout Memorial Hospital (Spearfish), Dorsett Home (Spearfish), Pioneer Manor (Gillette), Beehive (Gillette), Lawrence County Home Health, VA hospital (Sturgis) and the Campbell County Jail. One of her greatest joys and accomplishments was helping to bring hospice care to Gillette. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Arlene Garrison; and brother, Dennis. Ann leaves behind her husband, Garey; children, Rev. Jo Flesner and Dr. Greg Swartz; and five grandchildren. The family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be made in Ann’s name to benefit First United Methodist Church, 2000 West Lakeway Road, Gillette, WY 82718.
