Austin Michael Underwood

March 18, 1996 — October 29, 2023

Gillette

Austin Michael Underwood, 27, unexpectedly passed away in his home on October 29, 2023.
Austin was born March 18, 1996 to Tammy L. Rivenes Ayala in Layton Utah. Austin was so loved from the moment he was born, by his big sisters Tori and AshLee and his Grandma and Grandpa Rivenes. The relationship between Austin and Grandpa Tom was unlike any other. The family moved to Gillette, WY when Austin was 2, where he attended school and met his best friends Brad and Bryan Charles and Jared Pratt. They quickly became more like brothers than friends.
As a child, Austin enjoyed fishing and camping at Cook Lake with his Grandparents and AshLee. As a teenager he spent his summers at the lake with his friends and his cousin Taylor. Austin was so proud to be an uncle. He would have done anything for Loughen, Wyhatt and AdLee. Austin graduated from Westwood High School in 2014.  He worked for Pizza Hut in Gillette, eventually being promoted to General Manager and transferred to Worland in 2018.
Austin met the love of his life and soulmate, Taysha Bridges, in November of 2015. Right away, Austin gained a second family. Billie and Austin were best friends and spoke everyday.  In April of 2018, Austin and Taysha found out they were expecting their first baby girl. Austin was so excited to be a Daddy. In October of 2018, Austin moved to Worland Wy, to be with Taysha before their daughter was born.   Elyzah Lee Underwood was born December 4, 2018. This gave Austin a new sense of purpose; he wanted nothing more than to take care of his family.
Austin and Taysha married on May 5, 2020 in an intimate ceremony in Worland, WY. Edyn Rose Underwood was born July 13, 2020 and soon after Sameline Raine Underwood was born on October 3, 2021. Even amongst the chaos of 3 children under 3 years old, you could always look over and see Austin's contagious smile. During his time in Worland, Austin also worked for Crown Cork and Seal before moving his family to Gillette in May of 2022, where he worked at Black Thunder Mine as a plant tech. He had just gotten a promotion as a control room operator which he was very excited about.
Everyone who knew Austin knew that the first love of his life was music. Austin's music career started as a young teenager. Several people who knew him tell stories of him rapping in the parking lots of Westwood high school and Hastings where he worked while in high school.  Austin performed at a couple local venues, and nothing made him happier than singing his music or being with his wife and little girls. Austin enjoyed WWE wrestling, NFL football ("Go Chargers!") and he always loved playing video games, especially MaddenNFL. Austin always rooted for the underdog. He was a big prankster. He always had something up his sleeve. Being a husband and father was Austin's biggest accomplishment. The relationship between him and his little girls was phenomenal.
Austin is survived by his wife, Taysha Underwood, and their daughters Elyzah, Edyn "Rosie", and Sameline "Lina"; Mother, Tammy Rivenes Ayala;  Sisters, Tori Morris and Ashlee Keith;  Grandmother, Sherry Rivenes; Nieces and Nephew, Loughen Keith, Wyhatt Keith and AdLee Morris, all of Gillette; Mother and Father in Law, Sean and Billie Brazelton of Worland, WY; As well as three more brothers and a sister. Austin is preceded in death by his Grandpa, Tommy Lee Rivenes, and big brother, Destin Lee James Keith, along with several Great Grandparents.
We love you so much Austin. You were always a light in the middle of a storm. You will forever be missed. Thank you for leaving us with the most precious little girls.
