Pisgah Cemetery. Betty Lee Richardson, a cherished mother, and grandmother, passed away on September 9, 2023, in Gillette, Wyoming. Surrounded by her family. Born on October 12, 1935, in Sheridan, Wyoming, Betty was raised in Sheridan until moving to Florida when she was in high school.  On July 13, 1953, she exchanged wedding vows with Jimmy Richardson, in Miami, Florida.  While they lived in Florida their son Ron was born followed by Carol, Jeanne and Sherry.  They moved to Gillette, Wyoming in 1963. In 1970 Betty received her cosmetology license and started working at “Bea’s Beauty Shop” owned by her mother.  In 1978, the couple moved to Wright where they lived for many years. While her husband worked for Black Thunder Coal Mine, Betty opened Wright's first hair salon, the “Kountry Hair Hut”. Betty's faith in God was an integral part of her life. She was an active and devoted member of the Wright Baptist Church, where she led women's Bible studies and served as a teacher for Girls in Action.  Her commitment to her spiritual community touched the lives of many and made a lasting impact. After they retired, they moved back to Gillette and enjoyed traveling.  Betty also enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and spending time with them.  She was a blessing to all of them and they also loved spending time with her.  Betty loved flowers and enjoyed creating beautiful floral arrangements.  In her leisure time, she also enjoyed needlepoint.  After her husband passed, she would find fun playing the slot machines in Deadwood with friends and family. While living at her care facility she made many friends and enjoyed church services, playing Bingo and listening to music. Betty's memory will be forever cherished by her children: Carol Maddux, Jeanne Gonzalez and Sheryl (Farren) Morgan.   Additionally, Betty leaves behind Granddaughters; Stacy, Niki, Heidi, Mariah, Jenn, and Dani. Grandsons; Jason, Matty, Josh, and Jonathan. and numerous great-grandchildren whose lives were enriched by her love and guidance.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, and siblings: Della Wasserburger, James Bridges, Connie Butler, and Richard Bridges; two son-in-laws, Tip Bryant and Bobby Gonzalez and one grandson, Jeremy Novak. Betty Lee Richardson's departure leaves a void in our community, but her memory will forever inspire us to be compassionate, loving, and devoted to our loved ones. She will be deeply missed, but her impact will be felt for generations to come. Memorials and condolences may be sent in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel, 210 W. 5th St., Gillette, WY 82716.  Condolences can also be shared via the internet at www.GilletteMemorialChapel.com
