Bonnie E. Johnston, age 84 passed away on February 23, 2019 at The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center in Gillette, WY of natural causes. Cremation services have taken place and she will be interred next to her husband in the veteran’s cemetery in Colorado at a later date.
Bonnie Ethel Johnston was born on March 18, 1934 to Rollie and Bessie (Bounds) Moreland in Las Animas, Colorado. She attended school in Colorado. She met Milton Johnston and they were married August 14, 1950. Bonnie resided in Hugoton, Pratt and Liberal, Kansas. They also lived in Tripoli, Libya for 2 years. She moved to Gillette, Wyoming in 1970 and returned to Gillette in 1993 after Milton passed away. After Bonnie retired she enjoyed gardening, cooking and housekeeping. Her hobbies included water exercising, loved music, enjoyed ceramics and traveling.
Bonnie is survived by her two daughters, Marilyn (Jimmy) Hayter and Roxanna (Edward) Kindler; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters, Betty Morlan and Della Sloan, her brother, Donald Moreland, a half-brother, Claude Bounds, an infant sister and numerous nieces and nephews.
