Carol Baysinger

May 9, 1960 — January 26, 2025

Gillette

Carol Baysinger of Gillette, WY passed away on January 26, 2025 at the age of 64 in Billings, Montana surrounded by the deep love of her family. Carol was born in Newcastle, Wyoming, on May 9, 1960, to Gladys and Leonard Hanson. She was one of twelve children—eleven girls and just one boy. Early in life, Carol learned the value of hard work by helping out on the family farm.

Shortly after high school, Carol met the love of her life, Jerry Baysinger. Carol and Jerry married in 1984 enjoying 45 years of love together. Their life was filled with love and companionship, creating countless memories that Jerry will cherish forever. Out of this love came three of Carol’s greatest blessings—her sons, Shaun, Eric, and Jeremy. Carol cherished her boys more than anything. If asked what her greatest accomplishment was, she would unequivocally say it was raising them to become the amazing men they are today. She spent countless years coaching soccer teams and traveling across the state to watch her boys compete in various sports. She truly loved it.

Carol later became a beloved grandmother to six incredibly blessed grandchildren who adored her immensely. Every one of them knew that visiting Grandma and Papa’s house meant walking out with a grocery sack full of treats that Grandma just knew they needed.

Carol’s generous and giving nature extended beyond her family. To know Carol was to love her, and if she called you a friend, you were family. She lived her life thinking of others, always doing small acts of kindness to make sure the people she loved knew it. Her kindness often extended to strangers as well. That’s just who Carol was, and it brought her so much joy. She delighted in family gatherings, holiday celebrations, and never missed an opportunity to support her kids and grandkids at their events.

Carol is survived by her husband, Jerry; their sons, Shaun (Jeralyn), Eric (Jessica), and Jeremy (Christina); and her grandchildren, Shaun Jr., Beau, Aimee, Tanner, Danica, and Grant. She is also survived by numerous cherished sisters, brother, nieces, and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Leonard Hanson, and her sisters, Stella Hanson, Elaine VanBoven, Alice Sindelar, Pauline Lavalle, Linda Gayten, and Betty Jean Hanson.
