Carol was born in Aurora, CO, on September 11, 1962, to Eugene and Jean (Slowey) Schacher. She grew up between Aurora, CO and Black Hawk, SD with five sisters and three brothers. Carol graduated in 1981 with a high school diploma from Saint Martin’s Academy in Rapid City, SD.  A short time later she married the love of her life, Mark Renner on July 24, 1982. After living in various places they made Gillette, WY their home in 1986. Together they had three amazing children Theresa, Ryan, and Casey. Carol touched countless lives with her kindness and dedication. Her efforts were recognized when she was awarded Youth Advocate of the Year in 2015 by CASA, a testament to her unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. Carol’s biggest legacy is her selfless act of donating life.  Carol’s gift of life will carry on helping those in need and for extensive research to continue the fight against Huntington's Disease. Carol's greatest joy was found in her role as a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren and took immense pride in watching them grow. Family was at the center of Carol's world, and her love and devotion knew no bounds. In addition to her devotion to her family and her community, Carol had a vibrant personality and a wide range of interests. She loved cooking, baking, reading, and spending time tending to her garden. A true sports enthusiast, Carol passionately cheered for her favorite teams, particularly the Colorado Rockies and any team that triumphed against the Denver Broncos.
