Memorial service for Carolyn Grow will be held February 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Walker Funeral Home in Gillette, WY. Our dearly loved Carolyn Kay (Eby, Morsett) Grow earned her great reward passing to Heaven Wednesday, February 7th in Gillette, WY. Carolyn was born in Gordon, Nebraska, September 9, 1942 to Myrtle (Ireland) Eby and John Eby. She was raised on the family farm and attended school in Bennett County, SD along with six brothers: Earl, Robert, John (Leslie), Russell, Richard, Paul, and her one dear sister Marcia. Carolyn married her high school sweetheart, Arnold Morsett in Martin, SD, August 4th, 1960. This marriage was blessed with four children, two born while living in Martin, SD and two after moving to Gillette, WY in 1967. Carolyn spent her days as a dedicated wife and mother caring for her family. After 25 short years together, a heart attack made Carolyn a widow January 29th, 1986. Carolyn was once again blessed when she met and married her kindred spirit Ernest Grow, March 5th, 1987. Carolyn moved forward into a loving life through this marriage while accepting and blending Ernie’s children with the same pure love and generosity for which she was known. Carolyn and Ernie were married 26 years when cancer robbed her of a soulmate a second time. Carolyn’s love accepted every child in her life as her own whether stepchild or not. Meldene (Bruce) Goehring, Clint (Laurel) Morsett, Sandra (Shane) Kinnear, and Neil (Yvette) Morsett, are her own dear children and Bob Grow, Roger Grow, and Cheryl (Rick) Novotny came from her blending with Ernie and his family. As Carolyn was blessed enough to have all her children stay in Gillette and build their families, she moved from “super mom” to “super gramma” and “super great gramma” without a hitch. Because of her energy, faith, and love, she quite naturally developed her family into a hobby that made God smile with her fun-loving ways. From a family of storytellers, she led the way telling about her families’ lives and quirks in a sincere interest-generating manner. Her spirit and presence brought laughter and love that kept the family tightly knit. Her family was always the twinkle in her eye and the center of all her conversations. In addition to spending every moment possible with her family and friends, Carolyn was a gifted quilter and seamstress and enjoyed camping and gardening as well. Carolyn worked hard to help support her family and was proud of the business certificate she earned from Northern Wyoming Community College in 1997. She promptly went to work for Gillette College where she remained a valued staff member until she retired in 2009. Even after retirement, never one to sit still, she started working for Kmart in the cash office a couple of mornings a week. Because of her efficiency and work ethic, she was still employed with Kmart when she passed away. Carolyn is survived by all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her natural grandchildren are Annessa, Curtis, Alynna (Matthew), Greg (Kaitlin), Kyle (Kinzie), Tyler, Timothy (Gabriella), Michael and Ja’el. Carolyn’s step-grandkids are Dawn (Will), Carrie (Chris), and Bobby (Annie). Carolyn’s natural great-grandkids are Abigale, Maddox, Kennedy, Zoey, McKenzie and Sophia. Step great-grandkids include Xavier, Aiden, Ashlynn, Rayne, Olyver, Tashanda, Hailey, Adreanna, Tyler, Jackson, Blaine, Dalton, Dakota, Chevelle and Talon. She is also survived by brothers and sister John (Wanda) Eby, Paul (Marie) Eby, Marcia (LeeRoy) Faubion and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Loved ones who proceeded Carolyn in death were her parents John and Myrtle Eby; brothers Earl, Robert, Russell and Richard Eby; and dearly loved husbands Arnold Morsett and Ernest Grow. Because Carolyn’s life was impacted so many times by cancer, a memorial has been established to the Campbell County Health Care Foundation to raise funds to provide a permanent PET/CAT scanner for the community which she loved so much and supported so positively. Memorials and condolences may be sent in care of Walker Funeral Home 410 Medical Arts Court, Gillette, WY 82716. Condolences may also be expressed at www.walkerfuneralhome.com
