Charles Alfred Reed

May 7, 1968 — November 7, 2024

Gillette

Charles Alfred Reed, born on May 7, 1968, in Kearney, NE to Don and Louise (Oltjenbruns) Reed. He left this world on November 7, 2024, in Gillette, Wyoming. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and cherished to many, whose indelible spirit will be greatly missed.

A proud graduate of Wyotech in 1989, Charles embarked on a career that would define him. From 1990 to 1994, he worked as a mill operator in Elko, Nevada before embracing his true calling as a diesel mechanic from 1995 until his untimely passing. Charles took immense pride in his work, always greeted by the world with his signature big smile, reflecting a passion that inspired those around him.

Charles treasured the moments spent with his children and grandchildren. Memories of laughing around the campfire, camping under the stars, and riding side by sides are etched in the hearts of his family. He poured love into every gathering, making those simple moments extraordinary through his contagious joy. His son Charles (Ashley) Reed Jr., daughters Amanda (Joe) Reed and Rayanon (Charley) Reed, and his four grandchildren were the lights of his life, and he delighted in creating cherished memories alongside them.

He was also a caring brother and uncle to his siblings—Tania (Kelly) Vyvey, Denise (James) Reed, Lisa Reed, and Jennifer (Richard) Schank, as well as his brother Don (Jasmine) Reed—and fostered deep connections with his extended family, which includes 16 nieces and nephews and 29 great nieces and nephews. Each of them carries a fragment of his legacy and the love he shared.

Charles is now reunited in eternal peace with his beloved parents, Don and Louise Reed, brother Rodney Reed, sister Jayne Reed, and uncle Charles Reed. Their memories shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.

As we say goodbye to Charles Alfred Reed, we remember a man who lived life fully, loved deeply, and smiled brightly. His memory will continue to resonate within his family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived and the legacy he leaves behind in all our hearts.

A time of remembrance will be celebrated at Towers West at 2.p.m on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
