Christopher Michael Despot

Memorial service for Christopher Despot will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2017 at Walker Funeral Home. Christopher Despot age 34 died Monday, November 6, 2017 from injuries caused by an ATV accident. Christopher Michael Despot was born on November 9, 1982 to Robert and Julie (McDowell) Despot in Brainerd, MN. Chris was active in Scouting from Tiger Cub to Life Scout. Fishing, hunting, and working in the garage were his favorite past times. Chris graduated from Brainerd High School. Chris served in the United States Marine Corps during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was proud of his military service and earned the rank of Lance Corporal. Chris graduated from Central Lakes College in Staples, MN with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Heavy Equipment Mechanics. He worked for Peabody Energy at NARM (North Antelope Rochelle Mine) near Wright, WY. Chris and Luana (Wagner) Murphy were united in marriage on September 16, 2012. His proudest life accomplishment was to be Daddy to Christina Louise Depot and Christopher Lawrence Despot as well as stepfather to Kylie Murphy and Frank Murphy III. Chris is survived by his wife; Luana Despot, children; Christina Despot and Christopher Despot, stepchildren; Kylie Murphy and Frank Murphy III, parents; Robert and Julie Despot, grandparents; Robert and Barbara McDowell, sister; Carolyn (Tucker) Hansen, niece; Ayla Hansen, along with aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by grandparents; Herbert and Ursula Despot and aunt, Nancy Despot. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
