Funeral service for Dee Lee McClure will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 21,2018 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Donnie Edwards officiating; interment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dee Lee’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Close to Home Hospice House at 300 South Burma Avenue, Gillette Wyoming 82716. The family would like to thank all the nurses who cared for him at the hospice house. Dee Lee McClure passed away February 16, 2018 at Close to Home Hospice House in Gillette Wyoming at the age of 77 after complications with pneumonia. Lee is survived by his 3 children Earl Lee McClure and his wife Dee of Gillette WY, Carey McClure, Gillette, and Katie Collingwood of Buffalo, WY, 8 grandchildren, numerous great grandkids and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Karen McClure, his parents Earl and Donna McClure, 2 brothers; Duane McClure of Gillette and Dean McClure of Gillette and sister Della Ann Poeling of South Dakota. Dee Lee was born on July 5, 1940 in Gillette Wyoming to Earl Grant McClure and Donna (Sanburn) McClure. He married Karen Shipley in 1960. He was a service attendant at a gas station and also did logging before he and Karen moved to their ranch North of Gillette in 1969. This is where they made their lives with their 3 children for many years. Along with being a rancher Lee was an oil well pumper for years. Dee Lee loved the ranch life and riding horses, he also loved to go hunting and being on the mountains fishing, camping and riding the 4 wheeler, he also loved to go out on the lake with his boat. He also loved spending time with all his family and friends. His children remember him as the toughest man they ever knew and family and friends knew him as a kind hearted man who would help anyone who needed it and someone who loved to play jokes on people and tell jokes too.
