DeElda Maxine Barton

Funeral service for DeElda Barton will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 22, 2017 at Gillette Memorial Chapel in Gillette, WY with Pastor Ernie Bishop officiating; interment will take place at 2:30 p.m., Friday, December 22, 2017 at Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City, SD. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services.

DeElda Barton age 91 passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 at The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center. De Elda Maxine (Ehrler) Barton was born on April 28, 1926 in Rapid City, SD to Bessie and Bill Ehrler.  

DeElda was an active entrepreneur having a variety of jobs including; working for Black Hills Packing, Black Hills  Oldsmobile Cadillac, Sears, she owned her own laundromat for 13 ½ years on St. Joe’s Street in Rapid City, and she even drove taxi. DeElda loved to buy houses and refurbish them to sell; she sold a total of 18 in all. She enjoyed bowling and working in her yard planting flowers. She also had a fondness for Chihuahua dogs and always had them as pets.

DeElda is survived by her son, Donald (Myla) Barton of Gillette, WY; grandson, Daniel (Cheryl) Barton of Gillette, WY; granddaughter, Janelle (Lyle) Stewart of Peach Tree City, GA; granddaughter, Jill (Karl) Jegeris of Rapid City, SD; six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Bessie Ehrler; brothers, William Ehrler and Robert Ehrler; and sister, Ella Mae D. Ehrler.
