Edith Rose Mansur

April 9, 1952 — January 11, 2025

Gillette

Edith Rose Mansur, 72, was received into the arms of her Lord and Savoir, Saturday January 11, 2025. Edith “Edie” was born April 9, 1952 to James Ordean Foyen and Irene Deette Foyen (Prunner) in Pheonix, Arizona. Edie was a pleasant surprise not only her parents but also to her three older siblings, Ruth Ann ‘Sue” Berry, James “Butch” Foyen and Kathy Ritchie. Edie was the youngest by over 4 yrs earning her the nickname of “Babe” in her childhood family. As a child Edie had an inquisitive nature and heart that longed for answers to the wonders that surrounded her, details that most people saw as insignificant, Edie saw as significance in everything.

Edie married Jim Dale Mansur on May 10, 1970, in Rainier Oregon. Jim and Edie were blessed with two children, Jim Dale and Victoria Lyn.

In 1973 Jim, Edie and their children set out for a new life in Wyoming arriving first in Dubois then settling in Gillette in 1974. As Edie’s childhood family had moved often, it was important to her that the town her children started school in would also be the town her children would graduate school in and so they settled in Gillette where they lived for 42 years.

Edie was a lifelong learner, as a young mother and wife she went on to earn her GED and find a career she dearly loved. Edie started her career at Cambell County Memorial Hospital 1983 where through hard work, perseverance, and unwavering support from Jim, she went from an entry level position employee to a department manager.

Edie, who was known to only Jim and her grandchildren as “Rosie” will be dearly missed for her unwavering encouragement, her commitment to her family, her steadfastness in standing up for the “underdogs” of the world and cooking meals big enough for an army. Her legacy in her family is one of having courage to ask hard questions, to seek final answers, expect good customer service, finally, as the proud wife of a Veteran, to be a giver of unapologetic respect for military members and Veterans.

In 2020 Edie met Jesus while battling a life-threatening sickness, the same sickness that ultimately took her home to be with Him. She spent the next four years telling all who would listen about how Jesus and Heaven is real but mostly how His grace and forgiveness is available for those who accept Him as their Lord and Savior, as she had.

Simple joys of life created overflowing happiness in Edie’s heart, from the surprise of unexpected flowers from Jim, to the giggles of grandchildren at play, to sitting on her deck anxiously awaiting sunrises that only “Gods paintbrush” could create. Her family is thankful that she now lives within a never-ending sunrise.

Edie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jim Mansur of Gillette, WY. Her Son, Jim (Melissa) Mansur Jr. of Cypress, TX. Jim Jr.’s sons, Nicholas (Kenena) Jaquot, Jacob Gill, Kody Nye, Augustus Mansur and Quinlan Mansur. Her daughter, Victoria (Clark) Kissack of Gillette, WY. Victoria’s sons, Garrett (Tomi) Kissack, Justin (Abby) Kissack. Great grandchildren, Beau and Tucker Jaquot, Jaycee, Blakely, Rori, Wesly and one more Kissack baby to be born in June.

In lieu of flowers Edie’s family ask that you spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and tell your family often how much you love them.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Family Life Church with Pastor Marty Crump officiating.
