Elva Smith

Funeral service for Elva Smith will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Westside Baptist Church with Pastor Brent Howard officiating; interment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Elva Smith our beloved mother past from this earth to be with her heavenly Father on March 22, 2018 at the age of 87 surrounded by her family. She was born in Big Laurel, KY on September 7, 1930. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eligah and Rachel Gilliam and three brothers, Elmer, Wilmer, and Junior all of Kentucky. She is survived by three brothers, Leman, Bert, and Curt also of Kentucky. Also preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Shepherd. Their surviving children are, Beulah Mae Sturgill of Delphia, KY; Carl Ed Shepherd of Moorcroft, WY; Elva Allene Hitt and Bobby D. Shepherd both of Gillette, WY. She is also preceded in death by her second husband, Buel Smith. Their surviving children are, Clarinda Gail Frady and Melissa Diane Smith both of Casper, WY. She is survived by her six children, 16 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She loved her life as a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and growing her flowers. Her favorite time was spent with her family and church family. Her faith in The Lord was strong and she enjoyed her life to the fullest.
