Funeral service for Eva Dabney will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Gillette Memorial Chapel in Gillette, WY with Bob Moore officiating; interment to follow in Arvada, Wyoming. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 2, 2024 at Gillette Memorial Chapel.  

Eva Lucille Dabney, a beloved soul who touched the lives of many, passed away on July 15, 2024, in Gillette, Wyoming. She was born on November 10, 1934, in North Port, Nebraska, to John and Viola (Bricker) Middleswart. Eva was raised in the Seattle, Washington area and Arvada, Wyoming area. She married the love of her life, Fred R. Dabney, on November 29, 1952. Their bond stood strong for 45 beautiful years, during which they were blessed with seven children.

Eva, beloved by many, was a warm and loving soul who found joy in family gatherings and cherished moments spent together. Her kind heart and gentle demeanor endeared her to everyone she met. Eva's love for camping, traveling, and crafting filled her days with happiness. She shared her passion for games like cribbage with those around her and always had a project in hand, whether it be sewing, knitting, or crocheting. Her presence brought light and cheer to all who knew her.

In the hearts of her surviving family members, Eva leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is deeply missed by her children Evelyn (Paul) Hendricks, Viola Rosebrook, Jody (Wayne) Porterfield Judy (Clifford) Swinyer, Virgil (Sondra) Dabney, Mary (Mike) Rodgers; her daughter-in-law Valorie Dabney; as well as 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren with another on the way.

Fred Dabney's passing preceded hers along with their son John Dabney. Eva also joins her parents John and Viola Middleswart and a brother in eternal peace.

Eva's presence illuminated the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness and joy will be dearly missed but forever treasured in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

The family is requesting that all memorials be made to the Arvada Ladies Club. Memorials and condolences can be sent in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel 210 West 5th Street, Gillette, WY 82716.
