Mass of Christian Burial for Frank “Jed” Rambin Jr, will be held at 1:00p.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Father Cliff Jacobson officiating; inurnment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Frank Louis “Jed” Rambin Jr, passed away on August 16, 2017 after a short, but valiant struggle with cancer. Jed was born on December 21, 1957 in Hamlin, TX to Frank and Wanda (Robbins) Rambin. Jed moved to Gillette when he was 4 years old and lived in Gillette for the remainder of his life. He attended Campbell County schools. In 1980 he married Nancy Michaelis and they had one son; they were later divorced. Jed spent his early adult years working in the oilfield business as a pumper. In 1987, he went to work for Mobil Coal and spent the next 28 years in the mining industry. After retiring from the mines, he started a trucking company (Jedz Transport) and did long-haul trucking until he became ill. Jed enjoyed music, movies, and spending time with his family and his two miniature dachshunds. He had a passion and talent for driving/operating anything mechanical. He especially loved anything that went fast; Harley Davidson motorcycles, fast cars, and boats. His latest toy was a Polaris Razor ATV. For the past few years, Jed had been an avid gem collector. As a virtual life-long resident of Gillette, Jed knew everyone and everyone knew him… his sparkling smile, dry wit, and humble demeanor will be missed by young and old alike. Jed is survived by his only son; Frank Louis “Josh” Rambin III of Gillette, his parents; Frank and Wanda Rambin of Gillette, two sisters; Jackie (Ken) Adair of Goodyear, AZ and Judy (Danny) Fritzler of Gillette, one grandson; Jett Tyler Rambin of Gillette, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made in Jed’s name to Close to Home Hospice. Memorials and condolences may be sent in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel 210 West 5th Street, Gillette, WY 82716. Condolences may also be expressed at www.gillettememorialchapel.com
