Memorial service to for Gerry Brockmoller will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Gerald (Gerry) Wayne Brockmoller lost his courageous battle with ALS on December 6, 2017 at the Close to Home Hospice Hospitality House surrounded by family. Gerry was born on December 17, 1949 in Ogallala, Nebraska to Donald Wayne and Phyllis Rae Brockmoller. He attended K-8 at District 20 and District 46 and then attended Ogallala Senior High School and graduated in 1968. After high school he attended Chadron State College. When he finished college, he worked for Colossal Cattle Company until 1974, and then went on to work for Manning Cattle Company in Hyannis, NE until 1978. In 1978 he began working at Saults Ranch South of Merriman, NE. In 1990 he leased the Hornby Ranch at Woodlake, NE. He then went to work for Western Gas/Anadarko in Gillette, WY from 1997 until he retired. He was married to Sandra Ann Tatum on June 12, 1971 in Scottsbluff, NE. He belonged to the NRA and Faith Lutheran Church and besides the immense joy he found in spending time with his grandchildren he enjoyed collecting guns, reloading, hunting, fishing, and watching football. Gerry is survived by his wife, Sandra Ann Brockmoller of Gillette, WY,;his mother, Phyllis Rae Brockmoller of Kearney, NE; sons, Justin (Tammy) Brockmoller of North Platte, NE and Jerod (Brandi) Brockmoller of Gillette WY; brother, Kim (Darla) Brockmoller of Lexington, NE; sisters, Cindy (Bob) Lungrin of Kearney, NE and Cathy (Lonnie) Logan of Grand Island, NE; and 4 grandchildren Ty, Benny, Colton, and Hannah. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Wayne Brockmoller. The family request that memorials be made in Gerry’s name to benefit the ALS Foundation and the Close to Home Hospice Hospitality House in Gillette, WY.
