Harry Amos Morris, a dedicated family man and cherished friend, passed away on January 16 2025, in Gillette, Wyoming, at the age of 73. Born on October 30, 1951, in Woodstock, Virginia, Harry remained deeply rooted in his family throughout his life.
Harry and his beloved wife, Betsy Sue Morris, celebrated their union on November 10, 1973, in Rawlins, Wyoming. Together, they built a home filled with love and laughter, a gathering place for their children and grandchildren. Affectionately known as “Dad” and “Grandpa,” Harry loved his family more than life itself. He is survived by his four children: Harry Morris Jr., April Cook (Danny), Shantane Strohschein (Jeff), and Monica Diede (Zach). His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Cassie Cook (Tyler), Caleb Cook (Mariyah), Colter Chasteen (Kaitlyn), Clarissa Cook (Gerson), Samantha Strohschein, Mariah Farden, Skylar Diede (Terra), Luke Diede, Adrian Coleman, and Amaya Coleman. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Lainey Cook, Ida Cook, Tucker Saffell, Callum Chasteen, Eli Cook, Ace Diede, and Jackson Saffell.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Amos Harold Morris and Hilda Hubble; siblings Mary Sexton and Lauri Young, And is survived by his stepmom, Betty Morris; brothers Gary Morris and Kris Morris, as well as a host of friends and extended family who will cherish his memory.
Throughout his life, Harry had a passion for fishing and hunting, particularly relishing the moments spent outdoors with his family. He found great joy in sharing these interests with his loved ones, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come.
Harry's final moments were spent surrounded by his loving family, a testament to the deep bonds he formed during his life. His warmth and devotion will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date, during which family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable man he was. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Mindy from hospice, whose support was invaluable during this difficult time.
