Haskell "Chuck" Harmon Reed Jr.

Funeral service for Haskell “Chuck” Reed Jr. will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Gillette, WY on Friday January 12, 2017. Visitation will start at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral service to begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a graveside burial and a luncheon at the church. Haskell “Chuck” Harmon Reed Jr. passed away on December 30, 2017 at his home in Gillette due to heart failure. Chuck was born in Garden City, KS on November 27, 1955 to Norma (Fox) Reed and Haskell Harmon Reed Sr. They lived in Garden City for a short period of time before they moved to Riverton, WY. Chuck and his family moved to Gillette in 1968 where he lived until his passing. Chuck married Tanna Kauffman in 1989. Together they raised 4 boys; 2 of which were from previous marriages of Tanna’s. Chuck was a welder by profession. He attended welding inspection school and passed with flying colors. His biggest passion outside of his family was baseball. He coached Little League for 17 years and then followed his boys to Babe Ruth and Legion. When Chuck wasn’t coaching he was racing RC cars, enjoying his hot rods and hunting and fishing. Chuck is survived by his mother, Norma Reed; stepson, Gary (Cassi) Kelley; stepson, Josh (Daylene) Plato; son, Levi Reed; son, Jedudiah (Jamie) Reed; grandchildren, Abigail, Chevy, Ariann, Brayden, Katelyn, Kloee, Julie anne, Carter, Braydon and numerous nieces, nephew, aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his wife, Tanna; his sister, Valerie Vandom; and his father, Haskell. Memorials can be sent to Walker Funeral Home: 410 Medical Arts Court Gillette, WY 82716.
